Happy New Year, 2013.

We would like to wish everyone all the best for 2013.

Our Autumn display has now been replaced with a winter scene that is  waiting for wintery pictures and words to be added to it:

The shelves in the BFG's cave became very full with children's wishes over the Autumn term:

This has now been replaced with 'The Hobbit'. Children can post riddles to help Bilbo escape from Gollum's cave, help draw a map for Gandalf and the dwarves and lots of other 'Hobbit' activities!

Thanks to Charlie for the extra riddles, and Helen for all of the art work!

Best wishes,
Sally, Judie & Teresa

My name is Reginald,
I have been in London  Hospital for two weeks and Colchester Hospital for 3 days.
At school I have been learning about James and the Giant Peach so in Colchester Hospital we made a giant peach from paper mache.
First we blew up a balloon, next we paper mached the balloon using  newspaper and PVA glue mixed with water and left to dry.
Then I had to cut the ballon and add the top on. We made the stalk out of cardboard, then we covered it in tissue paper, left to dry and took photographs.
To make the seagulls we used the cardboard and cut them into seagull shapes, then we stuck them together with a hot glue gun 220 degrees, paper mached them and painted them white. Added some wire to hang them.
I would give myself Teresa, Judie and Jess 8 out of 10 in fact perhaps 9 out of 10 :)

I have been in hospital this time for 7 days. I can't eat or drink  - only water. When I just came here I thought I might never be able to learn again. But the nurses told me there was a school room where I can learn. I have homework which I like doing and it always stops me from getting bored. Unfortunately I have not been able to make any friends because I'm not allowed to mix with other children, because I might get infected. I hope i get out of here soon and never come back in hospital again..... but the nurses, doctors  and teachers  here are my friends and I will miss everyone.
When I am i n hopital at Addenbrookes, I am given a bead of courage everytime I have a treatment. The beads come from South America. The beads are lots  of different colours and they all have different meanings. The tortoise shell means I have been I have been in different hospitals and different wards. The apple means I have been in the school room. The apple is my favorite bead is the apple because I love school. The string has a name. It is called the string of strength. When I go home I can make a knot to make a necklace.

I am now top of The Leader Board in Tiominos :)
